02921390035 - PPI scammers - recorded message from an auto-dialler. Should be illegal and should be shut down but there is no effective control over these crooks and they exploit the fact. About time the government took some effective action, but you don't expect anything from Dave, (nice but dim), Cameron and Nick, (nice but even dimmer), Clegg.

Just received an automated call from this number, something about a refund of borrowing interest.  As I've not borrowed AND IT WAS AUTOMATED I assumed it was some kind of con where I'd end up paying if I pressed the number suggested to find out more, so I put the phone down and did a '1471' .
My number is registered with TPS - but that makes no difference.
Please cut off these phone numbers and prosecute any fraud.

Thank goodness for 'googling'!  Just had one of these automated calls from this number regarding a refund - thought it would be a scam so googled it and voila it is!!

Posted by B H December 18, 2012 08:07:49 am

My wife took the call and was really frightened by an irate voice claiming we owed money, saying if this was an error to press 9.
How can we stop these parasitical scumbags?

Just had an automated call from  this number insisting that I must take urgent action now to claim a PPI refund.  And of course I've never had PPI, and as usual my registration with the useless TPS failed to prevent this...

Posted by Woody December 18, 2012 09:19:36 am

This number called today, despite being registered with TPS.

Usual "press 5" if you want your refund!

Posted by Geoff December 18, 2012 12:27:10 pm

Got one today too.

Posted by John December 18, 2012 12:52:47 pm

Nice lady voice very polite but auto call said I had to claim refund soon or loose out I had to dial 5 to reply or 9 to unregister, luckily I hung up and checked Google with this No 02921390035

Just got an automated call from this Cardiff number a few minutes ago.  Highly anonymised, no company or personal names nor contact details given.  If they think I'm pressing '9', then they're sadly deluded.

Posted by GC December 19, 2012 10:18:13 am

They called me as well. 'You must act today or you will lose a refund that is due to you'. Press 5 to speak to an advisor. Got another recorded meaasage in an american accent so hung up at it sounded like it could be expensive. Something needs to be done about this lot

nuisance call from this number, yesterday around noon, even left its messages on the BT answer service.

Yes, the firm operating this number should be prosecuted! It is outrageous that we have to be under siege from these people. They prey on the vulnerable or less informed, so WILL SOMEONE PLEASE DO SOMETHING?

Posted by mairi35 December 20, 2012 07:21:44 am

I didn't have my answering machine on...so the number rang...and rang...and kept on ringing for about 5mins. I never answer unknown numbers but eventually I was forced to pick up just to stop the noise! Could be very alarming as you assume it's someone trying to contact you urgently when the phone just keeps on ringing? I did think some terrible family emergency must have occurred...but thankfully no. Grrr!!!

Posted by Grant December 21, 2012 09:37:16 am

Just received a call from this lot at 16.21 21 Dec. Usual 'you have refund' press 5 to claim or 9 to unsubscribe five. I did neither and googled the number thinking it was a scam. Too right, when is the government or ofcom going to do something about these parasites? They are as much use as a eunuch in a whore house !

Have just had a phone call from this number despite registration with TPS.  Discovered TPS cannot stop recorded phone calls, only live ones.  Lodged a complaint with ICO online.  Took 60 seconds.  If everyone above had done this the calls would have stopped by now.

Please lodge a complaint if you receive these calls.

Received automated call saying I had to apply for my refund before time ran out. Press 5 to speak to an advisor. I put the phone down at that point. If you receive such a call report it to the Information Commisiomer's Office. www.ico.gov.uk  Very easy to do.

Received a call from this number today 29/12/12 at 15.35 as reported, so will register as advised.

call received 2 Jan 2013 at 10-10 am about a refund (from what it did not say)asking me to call 5 to speak to an advisor or call 9 to stop these calls. I did neither and put phone down.

Had a call today from this number. I always filter any call where there is no number displayed and wait for the answering machine to click in - if it is a genuine call, people will leave a message for me or start leaving a message and I can pick up.   But this time the number was displayed so I picked up anyway.  Then I got the usual automated message clearly phishing hoping to catch the unwary. I put down immediately and googled the number.

I am going to print out this page and send to my MP.

Calls as above, absolute pain these people. Interesting to note the code 0292139 is not a national number but a numbering range allocated to a company called Net-Work Internet Ltd maybe powers that be should start with these people. They also call from 0131569 numbers guess who that's registered to - correct Net-Work Internet Ltd

04 January 2013 15:49 - automated call from this number.  Recording said I had not actioned a refund that I was entitled to and I should press 5 to access refund or 9 to unsubscribe.  Did neither and comments on this website confirmed I was right not to.  Less cynical people may be caught out, obviously a scam and people responsible should be prosecuted.  I think phone companies should do more to protect us from these con artists!!

Posted by Judy January 04, 2013 11:48:19 am

04 January 2013 11.29 exactly the same as the above call.As I am an OAP but still able to recognise a scam call the phone was put down.Later on in the day I looked this up via my lap top.Why are these calls being allowed ?

I use the truecall screening device and checked my rejected call log and found my machine had rejected 8 calls from this number over December. I only googled it to see who it was from. I agree with the term 'scumbags' for these parasites. I'm not a salesman for the company, just offering advice, but if you are really bothered by nuisance calls, the truecall device stops 100% of all problem calls via its very configurable filters. I also agree the TPS is useless!

Calls every week on a Monday morning, this time due to Christmas they called on a Wednesday.  Pre recorded message, usually from an English lady, offering PPI or Accident Claim assistance.  Tried to phone the number after a few hours, got another pre recorded message saying:  THIS NUMBER IS NOT AVAILABLE, PLEASE CHECK AND DIAL AGAIN.  So the bastards have cleverly forged the caller ID.

Next time I am going to follow through, give them a fake name and address just to find out who they are before I report them to the police and the authorities.  Suggest everyone else here do the same.

Obviously if this dodgy company feels that they are onto a PPI or Accident claim they will have to divulge their full name and then:  POW - send them to jail.

How can these people be stopped?  I had yet another call from them today - they are a bloody nuisance.

Posted by Harold Wood January 17, 2013 05:36:06 am

How is it you timed my previous message at 05:29:28AM (e.g. Mountain Time in Canada) when I actually sent it seven hours later?

Posted by Beth Charley January 18, 2013 04:35:08 am

registered with tps and they still call me

Posted by TJS January 19, 2013 02:49:20 am

Said they were "PPI helpline" and then put the phone down on me.
